Yawn…. until this years morgan and peace dollar releases….ive halted everything else. I gave up on the ASE unc and proof series this year with exception of 1 ASE bullion a year to complete the Dansco album page. Even the silver proof sets. With prices what they are……egh…. the mints slowly lost me as a customer. The only thing that sparks any interest with me is those Morgan and Peace dollars…..and thats for personal reasons.

In reply to Craig. I'd love it if this year's platinum specimen didn't sell another coin. I'm all for lower mintages due to lack of demand. That allows me to buy the coin easily and watch it go up in price later in the secondary market. Not that I would ever sell any of my collection, but you've got to keep the heirs happy.

Man, the mint sure has killed any interest in collecting those ‘once hot, must have’ Congratulations Sets! Only 16300 sold? Magic Mike can’t be happy with those check boxes running the mint these days.How is he going to sell these ‘rare’ collectibles if they don’t sell out within hours of their release. I guess he’s just going to have to resort to misspeaking the facts.

In reply to REB. Have you been watching the spot price for platinum? Its high was nearly $1300/oz and now it's $897/oz. I wouldn't say the mint is giving away anything at these 'lower prices', at least for those of us that use common sense when spending dollars.

Interestingly, this year’s platinum coin was $100 cheaper than last year’s and $200 cheaper than 2021’s & 2022’s coins. Is collectors’ interest in this series flagging despite lower prices?
