How about people talk with their natural voice and not hide who they are. How about people not flaunt their differences and then get mad and sue happy because 97% of the world isn’t like them. Everyone wants to hold a card in their pocket to get out of jail or win the argument. Race card. LGBT card, religion card. Whatever. Why are all whites Caucasians but every other American has a descriptor. There aren’t Irish American, Scottish American, Welsh American, Swiss American, German American, French American, In American, Italian American, Greek American, Canadian American Australian American, New Zealand American. On every form they are Caucasian or white. While the others are African American, Latino American, Chinese American. Asian American. Likewise other countries don’t have hyphenated identifiers, there are no American French, or African French, or Asian German, or American Chinese. And oddly they don’t have as much division as America does. America is a melting pot. It is great. But as coin collectors we want pure gold or silver. No clad. But sometimes clad coins are good. Kinda like too many chefs and soup. Chinese food is awesome. Then add gumbo from French, then curry dish from India, then spicy Mexican dish, then Swiss chocolate, then Danish begal, then borchst, then octopus, then seaweed, then salt, then rocky mountain oysters, then hamburger, then pizza. And some countries like money brain. Maybe by themselves, these foods are good. A couple may compliment each other. But mix all at the same time and I bet you’d starve yourself to death before you eat it.

This melting pot has too many ingredients. No matter what question is asked, somebody, somewhere will be offended. Nothing can get done because too many different cultures and values to complain, or want a cut of the proceeds. Don’t close border America founded on immigrants. Funny, because the first immigrants were mostly criminals (columbus’ crew) or escaping persecution (puritans and pilgrims flee heresy for not accepting king James version) founding fathers mostly the same. They left oppressive countries, old thinking, threat of death from their leaders. But now, you claim they were racist and should be removed from history. (Not you specifically, people in general) but yet fail to realize that as bad as they were (or yall claim them to be) they created the best government ever. Almost all countries now have a constitution similar to ours. They changed their government. Most states have constitution similar to federal one. So for all their faults, they came together and formed one of the most progressive movements ever seen. But to survive, they still had to play by the rules of the world. They were a product of their time. And today, yall still screaming ( to keep trump from winning) get rid of electoral college and go popular vote. No districts, only people. Apply that to then. 90% were French, English, Spanish, Italian (oh, right forgot… white) 7% Indian (obviously they didn’t count til 1924) and rest were black or other (I mean African colonials). So popular vote would have probably not faired well for non white. And I’m sure the French and Spanish wouldn’t want the English to be in charge and make all the rules of the colonies. That’s why districts were drawn and electoral made part of the process.

But I also don’t see Texas California Arizona or New Mexico offering to give the land back to Mexico. Or the Louisiana purchase area going back to France. Or everyone leaving and giving America back to the Indians. One reason is probably because the countries we came from wouldn’t allow us to just walk in. They’d vet us. And we’d probably get all the jobs nobody wants as most American speak English only and wouldn’t know Scandinavian or German or Russian or French or Greek or Italian or Portuguese. Mexico wouldn’t take us as they have monetary income standards. Also, those on military pension or disability or social security wouldn’t have an income and would have to start over at square 1 in a foreign land. And I guarantee you, Seth, that If you were middle eastern you wouldn’t go back there and brag every chance about your preference. If you did, it wouldn’t be for long.

I see yall complaining about civil rights and equity, not equality. I bet if tlaib and Omar (brother husband) went to middle east they wouldn’t speak long. They would need a male escort. They would need permission to speak. And because they are women, their words, demands, etc wouldn’t be considered as women have no voice and cannot hold office or make laws or binding contracts. They wouldn’t get a seat at the table. Their culture. Their rules. But those same women (add jayapal) constantly complain about America and want to turn us into their former country. In their country they would have been stoned to death many times over. And Isreal starting to sound just as mad as the 1930s Germans. Both sides now want full eradication of the other. Palestine cannot return to Gaza or west bank. It’ll be like the confederate states rejoining the union. As you can see, 160 years later, there are still fresh wounds. Still polar opposite on governance and compromise won’t happen.

Life is short. Love who you love. Pursue happiness. But don’t expect everyone to think the same or support your ideals. You can’t choose family, but again, all that shows is even own blood will turn their back on you. How many arguments did your family have over Thanksgiving? Did yall agree on everything? Did you cook a kosher meal for x, a vegan for y, a vegetarian for z? Did you hang up state flags of every family member or country of origin? How can you expect compromise or negotiation when for almost 2 decades you can’t mend the fence, much less add a gate with your own pops. Not meaning to single you out, but it makes a great example. I took up for blacks most of my life. Got into many arguments with my dad. Got grounded for having certain people over. And as time went on, the blacks constantly labeled me, blamed me, threatened me, tried to intimidate me. Non stop. No matter what I did or how I treated them, they always held resentment or looked for ways to stick it to the man. Oddly they made more than me. Drove better cars. Lived alone. Took vacations. But blame me, who was way less fortunate, because they got a speeding ticket, or had to pay child support, or went to jail cuz caught with drugs. There is no such thing as accountability anymore. No sticks and stones mantras. No be the bigger man. No grain of salt. I barely hear my bad anymore. Nothing but finger pointing, one upism, Karen type of mentality.

Seth your dad is a product of his time. I bet he hates what the military has become. I can’t imagine a parent turning on kids, but I see it all the time. Child abuse. Abuse by relative. Rented for drugs. Neglected. Starved. And even killed. People are animals. And it all boils down to survival. Self preservation. No more days of chivalry. Falling on your sword. Self sacrifice. Especially in Americans. People rob and kill for $5. For a pair of shoes that probably don’t fit. Fathers are in jail for stealing bread to feed their family, but California let’s killers run free, they allow blacks to get their reparations through 5 finger discounts. Smash and grab. But as if inflation not bad enough theor crimes increase the cost of everything for everyone. Gas, food, clothes. I am not a fan of my niece’s spouse (female). Not because she is LGBT, but because I don’t like her as a person. She’s a bad influence, selfish. Bossy. Among other things. But if something happened , your community wouldn’t allow me to not like her based on content of character, they automatically must label me as homophobe. It’s automatic to look for the worst and convict without evidence to make you feel better, and to toss facts when it doesn’t fit the narrative.

Trump gaining popularity and biden falling. Not because I am whatever label you wanna use, but because obviously Joe ain’t cutting it. Never dawns on you that maybe another candidate should run or get support. Or perhaps yall went anti trump everything and now realize you were wrong on some things. Like the border. And Germany cutting off dependency on Russia. Rolling back China sanctions. If biden did this 3 years ago he probably reelected easily. Oh and back the blue. Now everyone says stop sending money to Ukraine. Isreal bad, stop supporting them. Sure does sound like America first to me. But yall can call it new green deal if it helps you sleep at night. I didn’t agree with the never Obama ideal either, or dedication to 1 term. But nothing got done because of it and now America lags and the rest of the world has caught up. We can’t even agree on education, so it’s keep em all dumb.

And even when you do try to help, or address issue (bush, no child left behind) it is racist because you make them feel dumb and singled them out. It is Hilarious.

Thanks for the condolences. Sounds like your dad served in the armed forces honorably in WWII, and My dad was in Thailand during the Vietnam War,& they sure were the Greatest Generation. And I salute all veterans & active duty military members at our approximately 400 base here & around the world.
My dad was old fashioned, raised strict Southern Baptist and I hate to say he didn’t like “the gays,” which caused a rift between us when I was 17. I hadn’t seen him or talked to him since 2003 when we had our last argument over that issue. I just want to say to you, and everyone who may read this, that you might want to hug your son or daughter or a friend or even a co-worker (if they give you permission to do so) if you feel they might be struggling with LGBTQ+ issues, as you might just save a life from suicide or from being ostracized & you might make a good friend for life in the process. I think if we seek out basically good people, it shouldn’t matter who they love or who they are attracted to naturally. There sure would be a lot more Peace & Freedom in the world if that could come to pass.

Sam Houston National Military Cemetery in San Antonio, worked his whole 20 year United States Air Force career, with the USAF Intelligence Command based out of Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, with a 1 year tour of duty in Pakistan, 1 year in Thailand, 3 years in Japan & 3 years at a National Security Agency secret, small base in Germany, among his other stations in the USA, & I lived on that Bad Aibling Station (Kaserne) for 3 years in Bavaria & I found out just what we do covertly at all of our 400 bases around the world. Good Lord, if we were to only deal with ‘righteous’ leaders, we would only be able to trade with Switzerland…maybe. I don’t hear any uproar over Xi Jinping and his enslavement of Uyghurs or the release of Covid 19, which has killed millions worldwide. All MBS did was chop up a lousy reporter, big deal.
