Nice post Husker. I’m like you, I like to collect coins and just hope they will increase gradually over time. Most of my collections have done just that but the mint seems to have thrown a roadblock up with their recent pricing structure these last few years. I’m very, very selective on what I buy from the mint these days. Hopefully, that’ll change in the coming years. Don’t worry about stepping on anyones toes, we’re adults here (I think). Lol. I’m a “frequent listener, sometimes caller” on here. I probably check the site once or twice a week. I generally follow the stuff I collect (precious metals proof coins) most closely. I’ve been collecting for over 50 years and more seriously for the last 35. The only thing I ever sold was my old Whitman penny folder. I’ve regretted the sale ever since. I’m a hardcore collector with no interest in flipping and/or speculating. Guess I’ll leave those activities to my heirs.

You’re spot on Seth. There is absolutely nothing special or unique about this set and it comes to you in a cardboard box. Of course, if one likes to pay the government almost $89 per oz. for Ag, then this set is for them. On a business channel there was just a segment on the WH doubling down on ‘price gouging’ by businesses, can you believe it! Looking at next years coin release schedule, I won’t be buying anything from the mint until early summer.

I have to say they’d probably expel me if I were a student today. Well at least we’ll have AI to run the world because ‘students’ will be trying to figure out whether they’re boy/girl or trans for years to come. One of the reasons I’m heavily invested in AI stocks.

You are correct when you say collecting US coins is expensive. All of us are faced with paying higher premiums for any Ag or Au coin we’re interested in and you’re forced to pay additional shipping fees to boot. Is the Perth Mint still producing the kilo Kookaburra coin? I have collected a few of these coins over the years but haven’t seen them for awhile. I always tell folks the quality and finish of Perth Mint coins simply can’t be beaten. I haven’t been to Australia, yet, but hope to visit and maybe find some of your exotic reptiles. To see an inland taipan in the wild would make the trip worth the price.

I can’t disagree about anything you stated in your 2nd paragraph. The US has been a global war monger for decades and that’s probably one of the reasons the industrial/military complex wanted to oust him (Trump) from the WH…he didn’t start any wars. It’s all about the $$$.

Normally check this site daily and would enjoy Kaiser need to comment on every article. Sometimes I felt as if he was having conversations with himself using multiple names.
I come here daily and really want to know what people think about this coin or that one. I sometimes use the opinions here in deciding which new coin series to start collecting. I do enjoy collecting and learning as much as I can retain. If I make a profit and am not losing money all the better. I lost enough money overpaying for coins when I first started collecting.
Anyway not trying to step on anyone toes or ruffle any feathers just hoping to read about coins.
