I already explained in detail my and my fathers military status in previous posts. My father also had 4 brothers. All served, from WWII through Vietnam and beyond. Two were career, 20+ years service. Last in active service retired maybe 25 years ago now. Some got out as soon as they were allowed. My mother had 2 younger brothers, 1 served in Vietnam, 1 died after call-up but before deployment. Her father served in WWII. Once I reach a falsehood in any of your posts now, I respond to it and stop responding farther. Saves me from wasting a lot of time on the lie-a-minute guy (you, SENZA). You ever going to demonstrate for us here on how to set differences aside? Was this entire post of yours one of those “demonstrations”? Good one! Hahahaha.
I was reading about some other veterans on Saturday. Two from the same article made me think of you because they overcame their anger. One didn’t seek help until decades after the war. The other appears to have figured it out on his own. After seeing your post, it looks like they make actual great demonstrations of how “differences can be set aside”. Pay attention, it may be helpful to you.
Veteran 1: His wife of 6 weeks before he was captured in Vietnam said after he came back “I didn’t understand the trauma of war firsthand so for the good first five to seven years I thought it was just him being a redhead and that I didn’t know him when I married him”. But then she noticed as time went on “that his responses were always over the top. I am an educator so I am figuring all this out and thinking no, we have other troubles” Then it goes on to say that when he finally agreed to seek help, he was treated for depression and diagnosed with PTSD. In 2001 he underwent eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) which the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs deems one of the most effective treatments for PTSD. His wife said the difference in her husband right after he began the therapy was “like night and day”.
Sure sounds like you. If you have not tried EMDR yet, what do you have to lose? Of course, nothing will work until you admit you are Angry. I assume you are still not ready to take the very first step? You have denied it every time I have told you that you are Angry so far. Your own words across many threads here speak a different tale.
Veteran 2: Underwent 3 years of pilot training in the Soviet Union before flying a MIG during the Vietnam War. He shot down 1 American jet before an American shot him down 3 months later. His arms were broken as he ejected from his stricken jet. Unable to control his parachute, he crashed to the rocky ground, breaking his back. His injuries put him into the hospital for 6 months and ultimately ended his flying career. After the war, he befriended the American pilot that shot him down and has visited the U.S. many times. He said “After my experience in those events, I do not have the word ‘enemy’ in my dictionary. We were all soldiers. We did what we were ordered to do. After the war, let bygones be bygones”.
He was able to let the anger go on his own as near as I can tell. The article did not mention. Being Vietnamese, I assume resources to care for his mental health were even rarer than our side got. You obviously are going to need help or you would have already made progress. You are as angry here as you were 4 years ago, nothing has changed except your name. You still really, really do not like when people disagree with you. He was able to stop thinking of actual enemies as enemies. You cannot even stop thinking of other Americans as enemies.

Oh.. Christo. Disney plus is changing format. I’m buying the reverse set for my precious metals proof collection. I wouldn’t buy them at $10 if they were uncirculated only. That’s just not what I collect. If someone buys coins strictly for the price of the precious metals alone, he or she should find another hobby. Stick to buying the base metals only.

I have several collections of “things”. Some are wildly more valuable than what I bought them for. Some aren’t. I enjoy all. If collecting anything brings pain and remorse, don’t do it. Get a pet (although a strong argument could be made that pets are the worst kind of investment that you can possibly consider).

However, they just found like 100k coins in China from 3 different dynasties. And some big cache found in England I think.

Knowing the mint they’ll make a 1 year anniversary of the set, essentially making it more common. Or find out they already stamped them and suddenly have printed them twice doubling the number issued.

Hard to call as I don’t see rarity being sole reason to collect. Old coins most likely lost to time, these new ones will all be stored in a closet or vault maybe even climate controlled storage. These will be much more easier to find for a couple generations from now. Now for the chance of getting an error, that may be worth the roll of dice.

His death was a sad one. Saw the documentary. He was to be the next hogan, but his desire to be biggest and steroid use took over, so they gave us Dwayne Johnson. Hogan sure did a number on that guy.
