In reply to Donna. Donna that is the initials for Adolph Weinman. Obverse is his design. Flip the coin over and you will find the mint mark on the reverse.

In reply to Donna. Guess what? I did not think my post was going to show up or I would have corrected my mistake sooner. The W over A are the artist marks for Adolfh Weinman. Low and behold the mint mark is on the reverse side and is indeed an S for San Francisco. Still, to the naked eye the obverse appears to have a W that I think is going to be confusing for some for a while.

I subscribed to get the 2023 S American Silver Eagle, but when I rec’d it (shipped 10/10) it had the W mint mark with something that looks like an A under the W. I double checked and I should have gotten the 2023 S. I figured it might be a mistake, so I ordered the 2023 S from the U S Mint. It arrived today and still has a W over A mint mark. What’s with this? Will there ever be a 2023 S?

In reply to Tony. I received mine on Friday and it was a ho-hum moment. I have moved on to older silver coins from other foreign mints. More exciting for me personally. Probably stop collecting eagles of all metal types next year. Same with porgans. Just not into it anymore.

Just received my ASE, have to say that I am very disappointed with the quality coming out of the US mint. They cheaped out on the packaging and the striking is extremely weak. One is better off buying one on the secondary market to review the quality of the coin. I guess that is what you get when there is no mintage limit.

In reply to Frankie Fontaine. I'm beginning to think it is a women's world we live in as the male (in America at least) seems to be a dying breed. I couldn't name a single song of Swift's if my life depended on it, but I hear she does put on a good show. I'm a good old Rock N' Roll type, so these bevy of female pop singers don't appeal to me at all. Give me a Stevie Nicks any day over Taylor Swift.
