I see these articles all the time. You need 1 mil to retire. You need 2 mil to retire. And when I did the math, was lucky to make even close to 1 million period, much less sock that much away. Even if they base it on 20% of income and using the power of compound interest the total out-of pocket is still a lot. (Been years since I sat down and did the math, but I wanna say it was 500,000 invested and 20 to 40 years of compound interest... math professor, business professor, and accounting professor all used the example, which is why I can't believe so many people need student loan bailout because they simply didn't know). Even 500k is hard with 2 incomes and such a late start. Believe it or not, not all white folk have generational wealth. That great depression of the 1930s was a pretty wild equalizer. Same with dot com bubble, housing bubble. And 2 recessions (3 if you count the one we are in now for over a year which is transitory to depression 2) we weren't all plantation owners making money hand over fist off cheap labor. (Irony, the diamond and metals rush in Africa will be sourced using slave labor so that China may grow to become the next united States, or Rome, or England, or Mayan or Aztec or phaoroic Egypt... uegers. Even sounds similar to name used before, will probably help them though) and using it to invest and buy more land. Or have thousands of acres available to sell if time got rough. Not everyone abandoned and left to support and survive on their own end up as fortunate as Moses. Although no system in place for those wanting to escape poverty and despair and the endless struggle of all work, no play, all risk, no reward lifestyle. Why, because uncle Sam thinks he can get a penny from you and banks will earn interest in that penny. I bet that would reduce these mass shootings. Assisted suicide. But all your organs get donated. Quick, fast, humane. Win win. But the problem is half of America moved to Canada when trump won, so not much tax revenue to bail people out. Highest credit card debt ever. Student loan debt ever. Highest interest in 40 years, worst inflation in decades, on verge of another credit rating reduction (thanks Obama and vp biden) which will put all those border line paycheck to paycheck no emergency reserves on the wrong side of math. But in jail they'll get 3 hots and a cot and healthcare and cable. But gubmint need that tax money so they gonna release you and charge you court costs, fines, and penalties so that you are out of jail so you can work and pay tax too, oh... and vote. That's the main thing. Can't vote if a felon, can't vote if in jail. That's why democrats are letting criminals go and not securing border. (Entering illegally is technically a federal offense since it violates federal immigration law) so these folk can vote. I just hope if we have a choice between Russia and China taking over that is russia. At least they got good vodka and dancing bears.

Well. Not all of us were blessed with a leprechaun with a unicorn horn shoved up his backside. The silver spoon I was born with turn out was Ms 69, but later re-graded and deemed a counterfeit. Was actually 100% chrome. I do my best to pay off all cards monthly, but sometimes it's unavoidable. Card offered better rate than bank loan or whatever. I've been debt free twice. Once for about a year. Then couldn't get a loan to fix home I bought, so was either homeless or high interest card. And with VA dragging their knuckles I was underpaid for 5 years. The back pay helped and got me back to debt free. So bought my dream car (Shelby gt500) family emergencies, death in family. And I got debt free again. But only after getting refund for attorney. And then 6 months later bought my house before rates turned to crap. Which I'm happy as in today's market, no way I could have a home like I do. Since I owner financed my old house I gotta wait 15 years to get my money, but I'm making decent profit on the house and I am getting decent interest rate.

I've been looking for the new corolla gr since before Thanksgiving 2021. Just tonight dealership called me. Since March 2022 I have been top of the list for one, or the gr86. I asked finance options, 6 to 9%. And I told him to give it to the several others fighting to give you a deposit. But enlisted don't get rich from the military. I do best I can with what I got. But I am smart enough to xfer the balance to 0% offer or .09% with 4% xfer fee. But I stay diversified. Cards, coins, comic books, stocks, Ira, money market, and jewelry drastically marked down for going out of business. But also tools. Both cars paid off. 1 benefit of loan, if you have a lien, or judgment, or other legal issues, most cases they can't take your collateral to satisfy another debt. Like getting evicted. They lock you out, you can't get your stuff. They sue you for back rent and fees. But if you making payment on car, they can't confiscate or force sale to satisfy debt. Owe the irs? I think they can seize whatever and sell and put you on the hook for the difference. Basically, you don't own it so they can't take it, they'd be stealing from bank (irs is above these laws though, but generally speaking)

Depending on coin I buy 2. One to keep and one to sell. Mostly I just try to get 1 of each coin. But here lately, so many additions. So many subsets. So many in population in general. Not gonna lie. My stimulus went to buying 2019 to 2021 silver and gold. Maybe it'll be rarer later. Perhaps So many suffer ptsd from being lockdown or unemployed or force to be v with spouse. I regret not participating in the George floyd black Friday reparations day looting sale (Marching Looter King day or something) over that summer. Ton of profit when you don't have to pay for license, fees, permits, r&d, testing, shipping, marketing, assembly, college degree, rent, utilities. Just rush a store, grab whatever you want or need and leave and set building on fire so that whatever you 5 finger discount covered is now more valuable because it is rarer. Some were lucky enough cops helped them load their vehicles. But I think I got a couple emergency mint ASE. Got a couple mercanti signatures. Advance release. And of course type 1 and 2. The v75 (but not the really rare one) And most of thr morgan and peace. Somehow no matter what I try to get or collect I can never finish it completely. I got the cc and o and 2 others but missed 2 of the mints I think.

King Tut took everything with him that he needed in the afterlife...but archaeologists dug it up & now he is there without any gold to pay his bills. He must be very lonely & sad, that poor teenage boy Pharoah.
The closest I ever got to him was at the Egyptian Museum in Berlin, Germany in 1978 when I was about 1 foot away from the ancient bust of Queen Nefertiti. I put my nose up close to the glass case it was in at the time & stared at her majestic face.
I think it is most unfortunate that Germany will not return her to her home in Egypt.

Kaiser, This wasn't a bail out of FRC. Maxine Watters was just on CNBC and said the money came from the FDIC which is money that banks pay in case of problems like this.No taxpayers money was used. Her words! That clears it all up for me!

I was surprised Kaiser by how much China produces. I knew Russia and Australia were big producers, even the US but I was taken aback what China gets out of the ground.

You sometimes wonder if they want to sell the Proof Buffalos these days, Kaiser. I have a few of the 2013 RP Buffaloes and was surprised to see I could buy one online(assuming it wasn't minted in Beijing) for less than what the mint wants for the 2023 Proof Buffalo. I know they minted 47-48,000 of the RP's, but it's still an expensive process to mint RP's vs. a regular Proof. The RP's were $1640 each, so I'm not complaining.
