Is anyone else getting 2022-S eagles with corrosion spots on the back? I just received the 6 that I ordered and 2 of them had multiple black spots of corrosion on the back (0.5-2mm in diameter). I’m going to see if the the mint can replace them but I was wondering if anyone else is seeing the same. 1/3 of my order would tell me that it is fairly widespread or happened to a bunch all at once and I just happened to get mine from that bunch.

In reply to MKacz. Hi Kaiser, Fair enough. I've only had two issues with the QA from the mint, but they both happened this week. First the S ASE, but there was a huge red mark across the face of the 2017 Liberty 1 Oz. gold coin. The two hits in one week got me.

Is the 2022 proof from San Francisco with two different mint marks a mistake? Seen coins like 1981 proof with same mint and two different mint mark like small s and large s.

I’m pretty angry – just received mine with a huge scratch, with trailing dots on the reverse by the eagle’s head. Just called to send it back. Does the mint have any quality control???

I got one of my two coins with a string of machine marks above “E Pluribus Unum”. Little dagger-shaped marks about 1/16″ with the patern of approximately 12 marks getting progressively smaller. Does that make the coin more or less valuable? Thanks.

In reply to Dazed and Coinfused. Well, they were. It appears the worst of it is over. I am sure there will still be some backsliding. I am still expecting a future appearance from the worst offender (SENZA), I just do not know when. I also have a nice supply of lead, and steel. Thanks for stopping by, Dazed and Coinfused. I hope you find reason to visit again in the future. Now that it appears calmer here, I myself hope to be able to go back to less posting and more observing than I have been doing for the last few weeks. Take care.
