Mike, what an American Horror Story for sure. BTW, was it you or someone else around here that reported a major problem with the 2021 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set they received last year – it was missing the Washington Crossing the Delaware Quarter! Now I know what happened…

Thanks for sharing and sorry this happened to you. All of mine were ok. These proof coins were better off in the clam shells for sure. The plastic holders seem of a lesser quality than in the past. The employees today are not like the past either. The last two conversations on the phone regarding the free shipping for the loyalty program had them either lying to me or totally misguided. I’m sure it may be no different in other departments. It used to be customer service was their priority. Now I wonder if their priority is wondering if they are going to get laid later that night.

I just opened the 2022 ASE Proof that had just been delivered and THE COIN DROPPED OUT OF ITS BOX! One side of the plastic coin enclosure wasn’t even in it! So as I was starting to look at it, it dropped out of the half enclosure that was left and into my hand! What sort of idiot Mint dolt packed it that way?

For all of you wondering why so many of these coins are being sent back, this might be one answer.

Btw, this is THE FIRST coin I have bought from the Mint that had this happen. And it is THE FIRST time I have ever touched a Proof coin. For that one split moment I felt the silky smooth finish accented by crisp, almost knife-like sharp edges. It was surreal. But I bet my thumb print will be on it ….

My suggestion to all of my fellow CoinNews friends is that you immediately open yours to make sure you don’t get a coin that goes from Proof to Almost Uncirculated in a New York heartbeat. Fyi, my ASE was shipped via Mint Order #USS143824xx and USPS Tracking #9200 1902 5996 8804 7099 xx. I’ve left the last 2 numbers off for my privacy but also for you to be able to zoom in on how close your order(s) may be.

I’ve take thousands of pictures in my life but this one is an absolute first.

Yes, the same thing happened to me. I ignore that cancellation email. The last time I responded, I was informed that the email was sent in error and to disregard it. This time I did that and the next day received my shipping email. Since I’ve worked for the U.S. government, I’m used to this kind of thing. Although my tax return came to me promptly.

I received notice that my order for the 2022 proof ASE on backorder has been cancelled. Next day, I received an e-mail that the coin has shipped and is on its way. What is going on with the mint. Must be a lot of returns
