Yesterday (November 3rd 2022) I got a package in the mail with my four Morgans, 2 cc and 2 o privy marked coins. The packing slip showed it shipped October 21st 2021. When you clicked the tracking link last year it showed they never shipped. The mint refunded my credit card and I too thought about going on the open market but never did. Now I’m waiting to see if they rebuild my credit card. It was like Christmas in November yesterday!

Gah – I got an email about these at 2pm (eastern). I was at lunch, missed ’em. Too bad.

Well, I saw the other reply in another topic … so, nevemind.

I picked up a bullion ASE type II recently, and it very much looks like “an ounce of silver with seemingly less depth to the American Eagle design” imprinted on it – just to set it apart. My UNC Peace and Morgans are shinier, the bullion ASE is duller – like mass-produced.

IMO, I dont think you’d be “guessing” if it was not UNC. Maybe its a bit duller than normal, but I doubt its burnished, as they are not sold directly from the mint either (I dont believe).
But I dont own any UNC ASEs, so whadda I know??

(With these rolling “cross-topics” I’m not sure if I am mis-equating burnished with basic bullion? I know the finishes were summarized under SOME topic.)

I got my 2021 Uncirc ASE Type 2 over the weekend and was blown away at how well struck it was and how crisp the Eagle’s feathers were. And then I started looking at it from another perspective. Is it Burnished? It doesn’t actually look like your typical Uncirculated buck.

Maybe you or Senza or one of the other brainiacs on this site can jump in and educate me.

I couldn’t help but think about Crocodile Dundee when I saw this rather well-endowed hand gun. Remember when Dundee was about to be robbed at knife point? And as the would-be robber said “see my knife?” … And then The Croc said “Thasss not a Knife” while he pulled out his and said “THASSSSS a KNIFE!”

Heaven help the person on the receiving end of your antiquated, but extremely well-endowed, hardware! It makes my 357 seem so pathetic ….

Double Plus Good!

Says 0.0 for all privy marked coins. I’m hoping for some more Peace dollars though. I really like mine and wished I’d ordered the limit. Otherwise I’m happy. 🙂

That’s why I tried one more time to order my one set of reverse proof ASEs and got my order through on November 4th. I received my beautiful coins on November 12th. Go figure!
