The latest sales figures from the U.S. Mint show early performances for their five newest American Innovation products which include a proof set of the four different 2021 dollars honoring innovation in New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, and options of rolls and bags holding uncirculated North Carolina dollars.
Released last Tuesday, Oct. 12, the North Carolina coin features a design emblematic of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the nation’s first public institution of higher learning.
Rolls and bags of the dollar posted six-day starting sales of a combined 818,050 coins, for one of the best openings in the product series to date. Here’s a summary of other recent Innovation dollar starts:

the first 2021 dollar, emblematic of Ralph Baer’s invention of the first home video game console and representing New Hampshire, opened with six-day sales of 785,700 coins,

the second 2021 dollar, depicting Virginia’s Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, logged six-day sales of 753,125 coins,

the third 2021 dollar, emblematic New York’s Erie Canal, registered six-day sales of 836,175 coins,

the first 2020 dollar, recognizing the Gerber Variable Scale created by Joseph Gerber of Connecticut, posted six-day starting sales of 642,800 coins,

the second dollar for 2020, depicting the invention of the telephone by Massachusetts resident Alexander Graham Bell, opened with four-day sales of 682,025 coins,
-
the third 2020 dollar, showing the Hubble Space Telescope and representing Maryland, registered seven-day starting sales of 755,500 coins, and
-
the fourth 2020 dollar, depicting Septima Clark marching with three young African American students and representing South Carolina, opened with six-day sales of 550,775 coins.
Debut Sales of 2021 American Innovation Dollar Proof Set
Released last Thursday, Oct. 14, the 4-coin set of proof 2021-S American Innovation dollars logged starting sales of 53,115, making it the Mint’s best weekly seller.
Last year’s set opened with sales of 45,546 over the same number of days. The set from 2019 introduced the annual product line. It scored three-day starting sales of 43,995.

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 316 numismatic products. Sixty-one of them outperformed their prior weekly gains compared to 82 previously. Not counting the new products to compare apples to apples, 5 increased by more than 1,000 units against 3 in the prior report.
In addition, 24 products saw their sales reduced compared to 16 previously. The reductions ranged from 1 to 14,774 units with the latter tagged to the 2021-S Proof Silver Eagle, Type 2. The 2021-W Proof Silver Eagle, Type 2, also fell, dropping 10,910.
Each of the Morgan and Peace dollar products again declined. Their reductions ranged from 117 to 210.

I don’t understand your comment. Obviously, the final mintage is what the Mint stated…175K for the Morgans and 200K for the Peace Dollar. If you’re asking about the cancelled orders, who knows what they will do with them. I suspect they’ll end up in Mike ‘You must have this coin in your collection, You must have this coin in your collection’ Mezack or someone of the same ilk.
That was my point…..175,000 might be the “limit” …. But unless they put them on sale again……right?..AND dont they have to be struck this year only? I just want to see how the mint ultimately handles this…

Maybe we should give a ‘well done’ to Former President Donald J Trump for his ‘Warp Speed’ initiative that may just have saved your life. As I’ve stated before, since the ordering for all these Morgans and Peace Dollars is closed (at least to us) their numbers can only go down as a result of cancellations, by the customer or Mint. Yes , Kaiser, glad you are back at it. The CC card I used for my Morgan’s was compromised a month ago and replaced. I noticed they were processing my S and D Morgan’s with the compromised CC card, then 2 days later the compromised CC was dropped from that order for the S and D Morgan’s. I called the Mint and was told it had been and the order was on hold. So they let me add the new CC and the amount was processed right then. My order for the P and Peace Morgan’s were still on back… Read more »
TRW, the same happened to me. My CC was compromised on the CC & O Morgan’s I purchased. I called the Mint and they allowed me to switch to my new CC and processed the order. Thanks for posting otherwise I would have lost out.

Yeah, made my day. Pleasantly surprised considering the grades I’ve been getting back the past couple years. The Buffalo is softer gold and doesnt seem to grade consistently 100%.
