In reply to Carl Warren. Kaiser – yeah it sucked having to do that along with all my ASE’s, silver proof sets, Franklins, 90/40% junk silver. I kept as much as I could of my other sets. Now I’m trying to complete and upgrade those, but am at the point where I need, what I call, the premium key dates (S-VDB, 55 double die, 16-d Merc, 32-d & s quarter, etc). I’ve replaced most of the ASE’s (except the proofs) and silver proof sets, but probably won’t do the peace dollars or franklins. Unless, of course, I hit the lottery.

In reply to Big T. Big T – I saw the same thing and had the same reaction you did. As much as I hated to do it, I had to sell my peace dollar collection back in 2010 for financial reasons (the 1921 I had was ms-62). If I can obtain the 2021 version, I may take you up on an AU one.

In reply to Tom. currently on ebay, about 100 listings for 2021 dollars (some are 'more than 1 coin available'). As far as I can tell things are slowing, newly listed today 3 and only 2 each of the prior 4 days.

Has anyone been following the prices for the 1921 Peace dollars? The 21 morgans are really reasonable and high grades (the S is the hardest to get high grade) but the 21 peace has GONE THROUGH THE ROOF! I actually was fortunate to get a 21 peace that was made from polished dies – looks almost like a proof finish – and has the die marks to show the VAM 1H (also have a 1C) and I have an uncirculated but ungraded 1928 – those were always the two to have but now the 21 is in high demand. I have a few AUs that I would be willing to sell if someone was interested – I would make a good price. This is probably not the best site to do this but I don’t have enough to open an ebay store…. but if someone wanted a nice specimen to go along with the 2021 Peace and doesn’t want to pay a fortune I can help.

Must simply be slow reporting by the mint. Current e-bay selling prices are now around 250 for the ‘O’ and 300 for the ‘CC’, so unless one thinks the price will drop dramatically one might as well keep them and sell them, if nothing else, to a coin dealer.
