I like this coin, I got the silver one for 99 dollars (2 1/2 oz) but it is not a coin but a medal. The gold one is really cool but I only buy bullion gold coins, and maybe the old pre 33 coins… this one is super nice but too expensive for what is essentially a bullion coin. You’ll never recoup that value so it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me – and yes the extreme purchases in one week is odd.

I know exactly why that doubled and they’re smart. I got mine on time for original MSRP lol if I remember correctly a lot of collectors “hated” the design. I dont get why, this coin is super low mintage, I did a little digging and yup it’s a total gem. The fuzz on the coin is from the packaging. The packaging was superb in my opinion.

In reply to Carl Warren. Or the mint provided a special discount on those coins to the buyer as the coins were not moving. Maybe the mint thought it was better to make 100.00 per coin instead of going through the expense of melting them down or holding onto them?

Definitely “astounding” almost to the point of something strange happened. 12,000+ coins at $2715 each in one week??? More than what sold in the past 2 years. I will not be surprised if that is not a true number. However, if it is correct, it may have been a single or small group of buyers and the mint just grossed $32 million in sales. Not too shabby.
