Right now there is no coin label that is going to make a coin that grades a 70 turn a coin to grade a 71. I can see in the future the grading scale being change to 100 instead of the current system where the highest a coin can grade is 70. Why? coin grading service sooner or later will run out of gimmicks, and ways to BS the industry. They will push for the new system to make sure for growth in their business. Like in the present, and the past those that spend the most money with their service will get the higher grades.

NGC is making itself irrelevant by making their business be more about packaging and labeling than the coins themselves. All they seem to focus on as of late is marketing. Guess they have to somehow pay for their recents expansions, hiring and foray into other collectibles on the backs of naive collectors in numistmatics that fall for the gimmicks. I wont go out of my way to avoid NGC, after all I collect the coin not the plastic, but this will be on the back of my mind when searching because I dont like supporting shady companies. They are delegitimizing the very hobby they serve with “cash” hungry tactics. Now I sit here and wait for their next boastful newsletter letting me know of another world coin graded by them breaking world records *yawn*. A fool and his money are soon parted. Thomas Tusser

Oh how I miss the good old days when things were simpler and not so complicated. And it seems like it is happening everywhere! I use to be able to go the store when my wife would ask me to go get something for her and get back home with whatever my wife needed. Easy! Now a days I have to take, not a list, but a picture on my phone to show me exactly what to look for. It maybe something like, original, extra strength or ultra strong, with or without “this” and “that” And then some things come in different scents or flavors or none of “this” and more of “that” I mean on and on and on. I’ve seen other husbands standing there looking for something but they don’t even know what kind of this and that or whatever. I use to ask for a bag of potato chips and I got potato chips. Not anymore!! Baked or fried and even air fry. Air fry! Low “this” no “this” extra “this” or “that” I JUST WANT SOME DAMN POTATO CHIPS!!
All I want is a well graded coin. That it!! No label with this or that or signed by this guy or that guy! Just a coin with a date, mint mark, if it has one, denomination and grade. That’s it! Now how hard can that be?

I Wonder when the new braille holder will be coming out? You wouldnt even have to look at the COIN you want to buy, just run your fingers over the holder. What a concept! Of course they will offer abbreviated classes for those folks that cant read braille. And no i do not have anything against people with vision impairments. I just cant believe how far these labels are progressing. Whats wrong with a grade and authenticity? I wish someone could put an understandable comment on here to explain why FDOI, Advance Releases, Early release, Eagle core holder, Bay Bridge holder, White sight sticker, CAC sticker, PREMIUM holder, Brown label, Blue label, West POINT core, and the thousands of other varieties of labels and cores have anything to do with the COIN you are interested in.
