In the early 1970s, Leon Hendrickson arranged for the bank he controlled to deliver 1 million $1 silver certificate banknotes to his fortified mansion in Winchester, Indiana. As a publicity stunt, he & family members spread them all out over their large living room & had then teenager David Hendrickson (now an “old” man, but a photogenic “twink” at the time) lay on the pile of cash & the pic with tagline went nationwide. It’s in the book. (I have never in my 45 years as a serious numismatist met a prominent numismatist that bragged about his/her net worth – but the Hendrickson clan sure did!

The Monty Python troupe rules to this day!! I am also an admirer of the British sitcoms/”Brit-coms” on PBS over the years.

Wasn’t “Joe Billy McDade” a character on the hoe-down, cornpone, hillbilly t.v. comedy show “Hee-Haw” in the 1970s??!! Lol.
“Just call BR-549” – “Junior Samples” used car lot on that funny, strange, entertaining classic t.v. show that taught people about a kinder, gentler, & talented, & maybe a little smarter than the average bear type of hillbilly in our wonderful patchwork quilt of the USA!

Yes…and he had the nerve to have a professional writer author a book about his “experiences,” crying all the way to the bank! Sad!
