The mint is producing far too many numismatic rarities. W mint marks, S reverse proofs, etc. Coin dealers already do most of their volume as bullion dealers, the hot 2014 Kennedy stuff is essentially bullion today. Look at where the 2009 Lincoln cents are today, with the copper uncirculated matte finish is about 75 cents each, even with a mintage similar to the 1909S VDB. The 2009 mint set sells for about $20, subtract $14.30 face and divide by 8. A lot more numismatic items still have a lot of air under them, starting with the 2012 proof set. There are fewer and fewer collectors and more and more slabbed70 suckers.

I was successful in ordering all 4 coins from the Mayflower series. I received the 10 dollar reverse proof gold coin but the other three are "pending". I noticed that the silver medal is on backorder in case anyone wants to order one but all the others are sold out. My guess is that the mint is waiting on the medal to complete my order but I'm worried that they will cancel it. This was 10 days ago and I'm still waiting. It would be nice if they sent me the partial shipment. I can always wait on the medal for another day.

My order was confirmed so hopefully I should not lose any of the coins that are sold out.

On a separate note, it sure would be nice if the US Mint would update their "My Order History" page so that it shows the status of current orders and orders that have been shipped and received. All my orders - even old ones that I have already received - show "pending".

Flat out, I believe it was a scam. Look at the prices they are fetching on eBay now as well. It wouldn't even let me log on to the site or view the coin until 20 minutes after sold out.
