Im not going to lie I do have some graded coins but they are a piece of the collection, and they matter even if they aren’t everyones favorite. I know there is no such thing as a perfect coin (unless granted by an opinion), or collection, and that’s why I really like my purchase. I think it gives it a unique character to it.

at last a true collector.well said.i collected for nearly 40 years and i only had 12 coins i submitted and these were Morgan dollars.modern day junk coins are not worth grading.the morgans i submitted in the early 1990’s graded ms65 P.C.G.S.did the grading.

quick follow up, on the other thread there is some speculation as to the coins having die issues. I finally got to look at mine and it does have some blemishes along the outside rim. I can see it ever so faintly with the naked eye. All I know is I paid cash, and it will never be sold or slabbed with a hunk of plastic.

Too vague? What if it was? If the Mint sent out those coins less than near perfect, I would consider them to be errors. What do I know, Im just a hard working American who would never spend one red cent on interest for a what if.

As stated by a few, there is a big difference between sold out and currently unavailable. The coin is the lowest mintage to date and looks to have some true modern era, error properties.

Is this the most expensive coin the mint has ever offered?

I would rather have both. What if you could have both? Some pick up pennies, while stepping over dollars. Either way both would be a nice addition.
