In reply to Seth Riesling. 1.2 million down to 300,000 is a BIG difference and should tell the Mint that something is wrong and changes NEED to take place. What would happen if a non government company had the same practices as the US Mint? At the least an investigation!

U.S. Mint Director David J. Ryder is an abject failure as a manager of the largest Mint in the world! He had experience in the same position under old President Bush for a short term, and I expected good things from him, but he has caused so many different problems it is unbelievable! He definitely favors the coin dealers & bulk purchasers, especially since the Mint’s customer list has gone from 1.2 million people in 2014 to under 300,000 now! (And most of the current customers just purchase the annual clad & silver Proof sets & annual Uncirculated coins Mint sets each year as gifts & out of habit – they are not big spenders). He has rum amok hiding coins in Mint vaults, selling coins that went off sale years ago & refuses to admit the error of his actions & takes no responsibility as a Presidential appointee approved by the Senate for any wrongdoing. Congress needs reign in his wayward, warped, haphazard management style. We need a new U.S. Mint Director! President Trump needs to inform Mr. Ryder that “You are fired!”
