Annual sets and Basketball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coins were the strongest U.S. Mint sellers for the week ending June 14.

The recently released Basketball products climbed by a combined 12,393 coins during their first full week of sales, bringing their total to 127,573 coins in 11 days.

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 150 numismatic products. Sixty-six outperformed their prior weekly gains against 88 previously.

In addition, 3 products saw their sales reduced compared to 7 in the previously. The five-ounce 2019-P Frank Church River of No Return Silver Coin shed the most, falling 56 to 13,805.

The mint’s desired slam dunk Commemorative is a brick or slam dung- my friends…… Design is a mess on obverse, hypno coin I saw one in person, so crowded & busy. Same design ad nauseum is not MY cup of tea… hemlock here it seems

i saw one in hand and it was too crowded.the three players looked as if they were hanging in a large spider web,too much going on with this design.

LOL. And it would be hard, if not impossible, for the large basketball on the reverse to fit through that rim!
And that webbing on the obverse design looks a little like chicken wire!

Just got one of each of the six basketball coins in stock today. Sadly, every single one had a mark at 10x that would make them MS69 or PR69 or worse. The matte surfaces on the concave side seemed the most likely place. The silver proof fields also showed some discoloration.

I think the design works somehow in real life and it was a bummer to ship the whole set of coins back.

Late September for the delivery of the “Kids Set” (since when is 1 coin a set??!! LOL) is simply unacceptable! The Mint usually starts striking the next year’s commemorative coins in December of the previous year so they are ready to offer in January or February. The San Francisco Mint wasn’t temporarily closed till March for a short time. U.S. Mint Director David J. Ryder can’t get his act together & his S.S. Mint ship is sinking fast! Sad! (As Trump says…).
