Then the coin dealers send back the inferior quality sets during the 7-days after receipt return policy & get a refund. In the meantime, they send the coins to be graded 70 or 69 by the grading services & charge a very high premium for coins that should grade 69 & 70 in the first place with modern minting technology. What a “gift” of guaranteed profit, so-to-speak, the U.S. Mint gives coin dealers!
Check out the Mint’s website for all the products the coin dealers get at a discount, under the bulk purchase program – at least 13 products last time I counted. (and that doesn’t even include the special low premium pricing the silver, gold, platinum & palladium Authorized Purchases coin companies get under the bullion version coin purchase program that are not sold directly to the public)!
