In reply to joera. People are paying $20 for ATB W quarters which number in the millions, that's a way higher return percentage-wise than the 'rarest' modern issues can fetch.

In reply to c_q. The half dollar set sold out, but the 2019-S Apollo 11 half dollar in it is still available. It's the Kennedy half in it that you can't get from the Mint.

actually the half-dollar set sold out pretty early. but yeah everything else is still available, even the 5 oz one. But the real miscalculation seems to be the clad half dollar – only 40k sold out of 750k possible – sure hope they didn’t actually make that many ahead of time, or they’ll have to think about discounting their inventory soon.

In reply to joera. I agree, way too many products. I used to collect stamps, gave up when there are too many issues, have been buying commemoratives and silver eagles for 30 years, time to stop. Looks like 2018 silver kennedy will be the new low, and american legion $5 unc will be new low, but i don't care anymore.

I have stopped ALL mint purchases unless I see a real NEEDED item. I had to work for weeks to get a refund on the 2o19 C&C Sets. I no longer need every cent , ASE or JFK issued, heck they issue them just to be bought only, and except for the folks here with JONES’ for the coins no one cares & the big boy collectors have shunned NEW USM issues almost completely. Pd an exception but the 30k mintage killed that goose, maybe forever! The USM & Congress needs to realize there are alot of other alternatives & the ‘same old …same old….” won’t be a viable biz model any more. More ASE, some Rev proofs, W penny trinkets! Penny, I NEED a ’22 PLAIN, that’s it, stopped new issues like in 1982 when my album ends……
As to the 2019 HR the design is a real meh mess….. IMHO Liberty looks to be a lobotomy victim of something. I don’t care for it @ all, the AG would be a hot seller, the 2 1/2z contend unique, but the design 0y the mess of an obverse….

It seems as the years go by there are more coins and sets going down in sales. Almost every year there is a new “KING”, as Mezack puts it, in the ASEs. With the Mint adding the S-mint proof ASE yearly it is just adding to the lower sales. Good or bad? Lower mintages does not always mean better returns for those looking for that. I’m just a collector of coins and my collection of coins and Hot Wheels will go to my grandkids and one grandson already shows an interest in coins and already has some of the coins. Another grandson has more of an interest in the Hot Wheels. Modern coins are beginning to not be as interesting to me anymore so I’m doing more of the older coins with history to them and I might go as far as selling or trading my moderns. Is anyone else doing the same?

Uh yeah, pretty clear the Apollo 11 won’t sell out any of its actual issues. If they had cut the maximums in half for all denominations, it would have been fine but greed greed greed.
