“Taken Off” huh, there is zero in the public eye on the “RARE” w, – AS to the cent, ok but who has a book with holes for these……they will never be ‘rare’ & the # of all collectors keeps falling – sorry to be a negative Nelly but really these gimmicks are useless to get NEW BLOOD into collecting. Here in So. Cal I have only seen 1 2019 ATB & not a “W” there are NONE @ banks, stores, change machines, etc. All back east & already sorted through by Mr. Loomi$

IMHO the design should have been reverted after a year, with some other portrait chosen after the requisite 25-year interval was up. Keeping JFK’s picture on the half (not to mention continuing to mint it in silver till 1969) doomed the coin from the get-go.

It’s been out of general use long enough that the Mint could start with a clean slate. There’s no longer any reason to keep the old 30.6 mm size either. The Mint should downsize the coin, maybe make it multisided or bimetallic, pick a new design (Teddy Roosevelt? the space program? something else?) and get them back into circulation.

not the franklin-its too ugly. but how about the walking liberty, they are beautiful. i do agree, it is time for a replacement.
