As a rule, you should never buy a coin, (graded or raw), from a tv show. That’s rule number one! Next, do your homework. Ebay is a great gauge as to the correct market value for a modern era coin. Lastly, be patient! I am in the market for a 2018 palladium proof eagle graded PCGS PR70. The two I sent to PCGS graded PR69 so I sold them. If I would have purchased my PR70 a few weeks ago, I would have paid close to $3K or more. They are presently in the $2300 range and I believe they will go below $2K. This is when I will pull the trigger. If it takes another six months, so be it. A 15,000 coin mintage is a huge amount of modern era coins. Look at the 2018 platinum proof. It’s still on sale and under 10,000 have sold. Why did the Palladium eagle go so fast? It was a brand new American Eagle. It was a brand new metal that the mint has never used before, and It’s arguably the most beautiful coin the mint has ever made (in my opinion of course). I think the platinum eagles are appalling but that’s a whole other topic of discussion. Also the dealers knew that this coin would be hugely popular and they took advantage of the opportunity by paying thousands of individuals to buy the coin for them. That’s why its sold out so fast. I would guess more than half of all sales ended up in the hands of dealers. Collectors are now paying huge premiums to get the coin. But that will change. The prices will fall. One only needs to be patient. Take your time. Do your homework, and be patient. Good luck to you my friend!

Thanks again Millhouse. I would like to talk to you some times about coins. Also wanted to know if you know any reputable dealers in my area. I live in the Cleveland Ohio area. I understand dealers need to make a profit. Its the way life goes on. I do the same doing a little side work in the HVAC work.

No problem Richard. I’ve been collecting for most of my life but it’s really hard to be a collector in today’s climate. The playing field is not even close to level and the dealers make it so hard to get a good coin and a fair price. Even the “Honest” dealers (you never know if any dealer is truly honest) need to make a living and that means that will do whatever it takes to get as many of a particular coin as fast as they can. That’s why the Palladium Eagle sold out so fast. I was able to get two of them before they sold out. I purchased one and my sister purchased one for me. I sent both mint sealed boxes into PCGS and they both came back PR69. So I wonder how Mike Mezack got so many ANACS PR70’s. I would guess that every coin he sent to ANACS came back PR70. I would also guess is that ANACS gets 10% of every coin sold on HSN. I’m just speculating of course but I know ANACS is getting a kickback either from Mike Mezack or from HSN or both. This is why ANACS hold no credibility as a reputable coin grader. Mike Mezack would disagree for sure!

Ok, so as for the next year’s silver eagle being sold in the current year, this is a really tricky and sneaky scam that Mike Mezack does on New Years eve or earlier. So on the eve of 2018 Mike has a would be 2018 silver eagle coin graded MS70 by ANACS. The “2018” coin is slabbed and graded MS70 by ANACS. The only problem is that it’s still 2017 and federal law prohibits the mint from producing any coin with a date outside of the current year. So how does Mike “the Magician” Mezack do it??? It’s actually quite simple. All he needs is a corrupt coin grading service, (ANACS), and a camera man with a very steady hand. Mike Mezack has both!!

So the coin is actually a 2017 silver eagle!!!! If you are even the slightest bit savvy about coins, you know that the date on the silver American Eagle is at the bottom of the coin, below lady liberty’s feet. The camera man with a very steady hand will only show the slabbed coin above that date, right where lady liberty’s feet start. The focus of this coin is on the label which clearly says “2018 American Silver Eagle MS70”. Here’s where it gets interesting. I already knew the coin could not be a 2018 because the law prohibits coin production before the year on the coin. But I watched the show very closely and I also DVR’d the show. (I wish I didn’t spend so much time watching this fraud, but he makes me so mad with his lies and deceit. Mike Mezack is truly a bad human being.) So anyway, that camera man with the steady hand, has to keep the camera focused on the coin above the date so the TV viewers don’t see that it’s actually a 2017 coin. Even your best camera man can do this for several minutes, maybe even a half hour but this camera man was not the best! He actually slipped for a split second and caught the entire coin. I went back on my DVR to check and sure enough it was a 2017 coin that Mike Mezack was selling as a 2018 before a single solitary coin was produced. This proves that Mike Mezack and ANACS are working together to deceive coin buyers. What reputable coin grading service would put a 2017 coin in a holder with a 2018 label and give it an MS70 grade??? Only a fraudulent one with no integrity in numismatics. Did you ever wonder why the rarest coins in the world are only graded by PCGS or NGC??? You’ll never find a turn of the century or older rarity in an ANACS holder. NEVER!!!!

Mike Mezack preys on the uneducated coin enthusiast who wants to purchase coins for his/her family or for gifts or for him/herself. He lies and misinforms consumers and tries to make people think that they are getting something that they could not get anywhere else. Did you ever notice that Mike Mezack’s ANACS coins are as much as twice the price of the same coin graded by PCGS or NGC with the same grade? A simple search on eBay compared to the same coin search on HSN will prove my point. Everyone should stay away from HSN and Mike Mezack for coin purchases. There are a lot of dishonest people and dealers in the numismatic world but Mike Mezack, ANACS, and HSN are at the top of the list. BAD, BAD, People!!!
