Frustrating....looks like that coin is gone...I suspected that the coin was nearing it's"end" when that last big sales surge happened last week...prices on eBay haven't reflected this fact...may take a while for collectors to pay more for the coin on the secondary market...maybe they don't care!

So, Friday morning at 9:02 AM I receive an email from the US Mint saying that the 2017 American Silver Eagle uncirculated is once again available. Now I go to the website and it says it is currently unavailable. Was this an email glitch or what?

You may be correct...I think sales of the 2017 W are rising of late because some collectors fear the coin will be taken off sale in the near future...THEN the demand may really go up...Again, I don't particularly want to pay nearly 3x spot for this year's version...the mint could sell these in the $30-$38 range and make money

JAN M FOX, hi! As crazy as it might seem, is true, roughly only 40,000 sold sent,s the 4th day of sale for the burnished 2017- *w silver*eagle, if you want you can look at that this way, the 111,224 sold in the first few days of the 2017 - w, silver*eagle, those 111,224 who made there perches in the first 4 days of last year, might be the only true collectors of the burnished*eagle sent's they were put out on the shelf at the *mint in 2006, which could make the burnished*eagle a very sought after issue, *i always looked at this coin, as the second coming of the CC*Morgan, dollar which we know, closed its door neon,s ago, which i hope will never happen to the west*point mint, or the *Denver, *Philly, & San*Fran, for that matter, *i like to visit them all 1 these years while in operation, but the silver*eagle is to *me, the same as the *Morgan & *Peace silver dollars, sorry *Ike & *Susan B., forget about the other two, the zinc & copper dollars, there not even in the same park, *Ike sometimes had 40% silver, but they are worth some cash in very high grades, even the clad ones, same for *Susan B., but the silver*eagle even is an once of silver & the *Morgan & *peace dollar are something like 75% silver, with 25% copper, i should say the *eagle has 3% copper, *i do sea* that *OGP, sometimes sells $5.00 more than mint state 69 or proof 69, more than likely there good for your *IRA, in *OGP, but i'm pretty sure you can't use slab silver*eagles. I heard the *Trump, Kim, conmemrative, is not a bomb, but a big hit, thank *god our *mint did not pump them out! I would say the *Morgan & *Peace were not very sought after in there day, but then again they only cost 1 buck, the proof *Morgan & *peace might of cost more at there time of mintage, i*m not sure, never looked into it. So! We might not be around, but you never know, for the burnished American Silver Eagle to be highly sought after, in our day. Just *me, but the 2007 burnished silver*eagle, go*s for shot bucks in 69 & 70 grade, with a lower mintage than most proof *ASE,s, they might be a good buy, *smile*peace.

So it took nearly a year for the 2017 W UNC to add 40,000 coins to it's 4-day opening "burst"...I don't think
of that as a very sought-after issue...as to this year's issue, I wonder why the mint thinks sales will soar having increased the coin by $2..? You can buy the 2017 W at auction slabbed in SP 69 for around $40...sometimes with early release or first day pedigree...
