joera – they should change their names to :: label coin grading company:: they all charge the same price$$ for a 68, 69, 70,grade, the way it us to be, didn’t it all start because of counterfeits? its all crook’it now! it was to stop us from getting rip’t off, now there ripping us off, its all >BS< nothing but B!S!.

Here in the last few years we have seen more and more different labels than there use to be. WAAAY TOO MANY!! It was bad enough that the coin dealers were taking advantage of some collectors with all the “FIRST STRIKE”, “EARLY RELEASE” and all of the other “FIRST …” labels and now the grading companies are also wanting a piece of the pie and making all the different “SPECIAL” labels for a coin that is exactly the same as other coins in a plan label. The grading companies can stop making all the different labels and it could put a stop to the price gouging of coins like the 2015 (P) bullion Eagle which is the exact same coin as all the other millions of bullions released in 2015. And the 2016-W Congratulation Proof Silver Eagle, which some say is the “NEW KING” of Silver Eagles, just because it came in the Congratulation PACKAGE! Not because it has a different mint mark from the other proof Silver Eagles but because of a different package thus another different label. It would be great if we could all go back to buying the coin and not the label.

Well put Seth, I like a nice design on a label, as long as the label company’s don’t charge extra than the basic label witch i like also, but cut the crap, $18.00 extra for the words ”first strike” come on, can anyone sea anything different, between a first strike 69 label and a basic 69 grade label & of course, the same for 70 grade first strike & 70 basic label, a 69 or 70 grade they look all the same, no matter how you look at them, a 70 is a 70 is a dam 70. 32 billion bucks from 1986 to now, be grateful not greed’y, if you want to let the world know it’s a first strike and have nice labels, or a stamped autograph don’t charge 1 extra cent, but if you can get *Washington or *Abe, the Babe, Mr. Vince Lombardi*s real autograph, i’m in it for $18.00* BTW, this is not for you PCGS, but what ever happen’d to the 2.oz 9999. silver *Com in the shape of a football? not one word since 2012, as far as i* know, get it done, *pretty please**,peace*

“special labels” = ripoff. I do prefer PCGS certified slabbed coins over NGC slabs for sure since they almost always carry a premium over the same coin in the same grade by NGC. But do you all really think a “pretty” label brings more when you may have to sell these coins? NOT! I purchase secondary market PCGS slabs with “special labels” like 2 or 3 years after they are issued only from dealers who do not charge an extra cent for them since only the grade on the label really matters. Just ask any of the nearly 6,000 coin dealers in the USA if they will pay you a premium for a graphic art design label or foil label or coin designer autograph label, or colored plastic core slab & you will understand this scam.

The previous Platinum reverses were mostly all excellent. Agreed these new designs are a let down. At least going forward I’ll save some “coin” by not buying these.

2018 WW1 coin, the infantryman charges with EYES closed… 2018 APlatE Proof-The kid plants with his eyes closed & so does Mommy who looks like she just got her pus*/ grabbed by POTUS……she looks PO’d…… seems like a year of coins with weak designs may emerge….. Medals ahh the WW1 medals are great, but way overpriced & held hostage by the artists self-portrait LEFTY ? WWI coin, how many left handed ’08 Springfields were made? Oh & Japanese WW2 helmets it appears//// what IS going on!>>>???
