The art work is truly amazing. Sadly I cannot afford to collect both coins and bills at this time, and coins are my passion. Older American bills are worth having framed and hung on a wall as quality art. Would be nice to see the mint design a series of collectible bills with old world art and a low mintage similar to proof numismatic coins. I believe they would be an international hit and also very profitable for the mint…and hopefully collectors as well lol just a thought.

I have purchased mostly limited edition FRN sets from the BEP since 1984 ( & some nice intaglio prints once in awhile) & they have great quality & great customer service right in the BEP building in D.C & I get items in the mail in usually 4 business days after they start shipping by USPS first class mail with the BEPs original government mailing permit (& a few times it was only 3 days to Austin, TX). Their “sister” bureau, the U.S. Mint no longer uses its original government mailing permit & sources out their customer service to a non-numismatic private vendor & same for its order fulfillment warehouse operated by the same private vendor company (sad situation). But demand is way down from the 80s & 90s when almost every BEP product was a quick sellout. I have bought from the BEP booth at the two annual ANA coin shows & at both the D.C. & Ft. Worth BEP gift shops & enjoy it as a side hobby. I was lucky to get private tours of both facilities, including a VIP tour on grand opening day for the BEP Western Currency Printing Facility in Ft. Worth & wrote a large feature article for Coin World newspaper when it opened around 1993. It has the largest vault in the world supposedly & it had just started printing only $1 FRNs like a week before grand opening & the vault had like $200 million in $1 FRNs already with the famous “FW” plate letters on the notes. Fascinating stuff for sure.
