Gold, Silver Rise in 3rd Quarter, US Mint Bullion Sales Mixed...
Gold and silver futures fell Friday, deepening their losses on the week and month. The pair extended their streak of weekly declines to three, and snapped a string of monthly increases that had reached five for gold and three for silver. They still notched gains for the third quarter.

U.S. coin production was relatively steady in August, although down from the previous month and from year ago levels, according to the latest round of manufacturing figures from the United States Mint.
Over 1.1 billion in cents, nickels, dimes, and quarters were pressed for circulation last month, lifting the Mint's year-to-date production total to just over 10 billion coins [...]

US Mint Sales: 20th Anniversary Proof Platinum Eagle Sells Out
Sales of the 20th anniversary 2017-W Proof American Platinum Eagle have officially ended. The United States Mint this week tagged the coin's product page with "sold out."
The platinum coin launched on July 6 with over half of its 10,000 mintage claimed within hours. Sales reached about 9,200 by early August and that's when the coin's availability started rotating from on to off [...]
