Precious metals futures registered declines ranging from 0.7% for palladium to 2.4% for silver

Gold for December delivery lost $10.70, or 0.8%, to settle at $1,279.70 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

"Safe haven flows into the yen and gold has fallen a little bit because of improved risk appetite in the market," Reuters quoted OCBC analyst Barnabas Gan. "Some risk aversion is taken off the table simply because some concerns of the North Korean attack has eased."
