Prices on proof American Gold Eagles and other gold coins from the United States Mint may increase Wednesday

On Wednesday, Aug. 2, the United States Mint could increase prices on more than two dozen numismatic gold products.

The Mint’s collections of gold coins have prices that can change weekly based on the trending value of gold. The U.S. Mint most recently reduced prices on July 5 when gold’s weekly average dropped below $1,250 an ounce. On Tuesday, the yellow metal traded near an 8-week high and is now around $1,267 an ounce.

If Wednesday’s LBMA gold price for the PM remains above $1,250 an ounce, then prices of U.S. collector gold coins will increase by as much as $50 for every ounce of the precious metal they contain.
