Canada’s 150th anniversary is memorized on a new special edition Royal Canadian Mint coin, the 2017 Our Home and Native Land Silver Dollar.

2017 Our Home and Native Land Silver Dollar (obverse and reverse)

Struck in 99.99% pure silver and designed by Canadian artist Jamie Desrochers, this dual-dated proof coin features the Canadian flag and a 3D-like map of Canada that is superimposed with "150" in red enamel.

"Laser frosting gives the flag an ethereal appearance as it rises up behind the 3D-like map of Canada," the Mint describes.

Reverses also show the official Canada 150 logo and lettering of CANADA, DOLLAR, the double-dated years 1867-2017, and JD for the artist’s initials.

Obverses offer the Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Surrounding the portrait are ELIZABETH II, D G REGINA, and SB for the artist’s initials.
