Hello Danny -

You sure are right about the beauty & popularity of all versions of the Wedge-Tailed eagle coins from Perth Mint! A great series for sure, but I don't have them all. Mercanti told a journalist I know that he has made more money designing those coins for Perth Mint Australia & autographing PCGS & NGC certified coin slab labels since he retired from the US Mint than he made during his entire career at the US Mint! Good for him - an excellent artist.

Happy collecting Danny!

Seth Hello Mate,
Since the Wedge Tail Eagle's, debute, I took an instant liking to them. I have one of every minted, bought thru the Perth mint, with the exchange rate, I saved some good money and their FedEx shipping, I got them in less than 10 days. Silver, Gold, Platinum, Bimetal, BU, Proof, HR and this year the 2oz Gold and Silver HR Reverse Proof.
Word has it, later this year a Silver 5oz HR Reverse Proof will be minted, bringing the series to an end. But, super inside sourses say the Mint wants the series to run thru 2020 with the help of Mr.Mercantie. A Fractional set in Silver, Gold and maybe even Platinum since it's been under $1,000.00 an ounce for over 2yrs.and others as long as Mr. Mercantie and others can come up with suitable designs and styles, they want to keep it going since it's been a big success, especially in limited mintages. A bird known to Australians and few around the world has been put on the map and made known to Hundreds of Thousands around the world because of the Designers at the Perth mint.
It takes its place alongside the U.S. Eagle, The Maple Leaf, the Libertad, the Panda and a few others as a coin to be collected. Happy collecting Seth!.

I bought and received a week ago the 2oz. Gold Wedge Tail Eagle and the Silver 2oz. Dragon. Both are excellent editions to my collection. Why are you so far behinf. According to Perth, most of these are already sold out at the mint. If you want them, your best chance is Talismancoins.com or ebay. Goodluck.

Darrin Lee Unser -

This is OLD news! You need to be more timely for your readers who aren't customers of Perth Mint Australia yet. Thank G-D I was online for the first day of issue for the very rare 1,000 limited 2-ounce Dragon coin listed in this article that sold out that day. As a Perth Mint customer I receive their new issue release date descriptions early on & am ready online for the coins I want. I have been lucky to get all the 2-ounce rimless, smooth edge, antiqued coins going back 4 years. Good luck to all.

Happy collecting everyone!
