A new collector coin from the Royal Canadian Mint revitalizes an old-fashioned winter scene with traditional sculpting, color, and an innovative use of Murano glass.

2017 $20 Murano Snow Covered Tree 1 oz. Silver Coin – Obverse and Reverse

Each coin is produced in one troy ounce of 99.99% pure silver and to a proof finish. Each is unique because no two glass applications are the same, the Mint promotes:

"Your Murano glass tree was handcrafted by master glass-makers Giorgio and Bernardino Vio of Murano, Italy."

Coin reverses (tails side) depict a timeless winter countryside, complete with fresh-fallen snow, smoke from a wooden cabin, a horse-drawn sleigh with riders, a grove of surrounding pines and a tree in the center made of Murano glass. The design is the work of Canadian artist Tony Bianco. Inscriptions include CANADA, 20 DOLLARS, 2017 and TB for the artist’s initials.

Obverses (heads side) show the Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Inscriptions include ELIZABETH II, D G REGINA, and SB for the artist’s initials.
