The US Mint is "hoarding" platinum & gold coins it seems - there are 8,894 gold 2016 "Mercury" dimes left unsold since first day of issue in April (1-tenth oz 24k gold in each coin) & 811 unsold Proof 2016 platinum American Eagle 1-oz .9995 fine platinum coins since first day of issue. Either offer them for sale or melt them - the only two options, but the Mint officials cannot make an easy decision. Just flip a coin & either sell or melt! Easy solution!
