Mike -

It is unbelievable, but the U.S. Mint usually takes up to two years to release final, official audited sales figures on their products. Also, a certain percentage of coins & sets are returned by customers
with damaged coins or damaged special packaging & have to be destroyed according to Mint policies.
I bet you will really enjoy the ANA coin show & convention in August in beautiful Anaheim. The U.S. Mint will have a sales booth at the show & you can ask their supervisor your question in person.

Happy collecting Mike in Anaheim!

Question: Is there a known reason why some releases with limited mintages show up on the sales just a little short of the published mintages?
