@KC&SO

 And those that must get the MT gold but cannot might be tempted to go to eBay to satisfy their need. I am glad I bought the gold MT on the first day, otherwise I might be one of those scouring eBay.

 Your observation about the up and coming PM bow wave made me look up the Mint's schedule and in March alone they've got the silver ATB quarter proof set (7th), the proof AGE's in various sizes (17th), the NPS commemoratives (24th), the FS Betty Ford (25th) topped off by the proof Buffalo gold (31st).

 I'm glad I decided to cut back a while back and will just get one proof and unc each of the NPS gold. Then the NA C&C, the Reagan C&C and the TR puck both unc and P (making an exception for TR, I haven't bought a P since 2010). Nothing more this year and it'll be much less afterwards (most likely NA C&C and any RP or EU finish surprises the Mint might throw our way but only for clad and silver) I had been iffy with the tribute gold dime and quarters but will just pass on them. The attitude of the Mint towards small fry collectors like me and their incompetence over the years have just gotten to me. Enough is enough. At least they will save me some $$$ to spend on something, somewhere else!!

NumisDude, I agree.., very nice designs indeed though I'm not surprised. The Mint hasn't been very kind to this offering with delaying the release of the Silvers and then having the $5 Proofs on Back Order for most of the introductory period (twice now), the UNC has been on back order for what, a week now as well.

You mean to tell me that a coin that you plan to sell for the whole year and you don't have 10k and 5k of the $5 PRF & UNC, respectfully, ready to go on game day, really? I think these BO's do impact sales, oddly enough, it does have an impact.

Not to mention competition from the NPS 3 coin set in 5 weeks, the HR silver medals, 30th Anny ASE's, and Tributes, to include others.., there's a PM Bow Wave coming and it ain't gonna be cheap.., and poor ole Samuel is going to have a rough ride with it! Time will Tell.., though this offering may be done here shortly.

Happy collecting & spending!

I am shocked at the very low sales figures for the $5 gold & $1 silver Mark Twain commemorative coins! Both coin designs are the best I have seen in years as far as U.S. Mint commemorative coin programs go IMHO. But with 3 price increases on the $5 gold MT coin in just a month, I don't see any rush for the collecting community to buy them now! Glad I got in on first day of issue on the gold coins. Good luck in your collecting everyone.
