Gold Nuggets in Heritage January 2016 FUN Sale

Heritage Auctions will present gold nuggets during two sales sessions held in conjunction with the January 2016 Florida United Numismatists (FUN) Convention in Tampa.

This gold nugget, Lot #6897 and weighing 24.7 grams or 0.8 ounces, is one of six that Heritage will auction during the January 2016 FUN Show

With weights ranging from 13.6 grams to 25 grams, six nuggets in total will go under the hammer. The first three will be offered during the 6th session, beginning 6:00 p.m. ET on Jan. 8, 2016.

  • Gold Nugget. 20.81 grams, .7 ounce. 31.2 x 24.0 x 8.1mm. A brownish-gold nugget, naturally rough, irregular flat shape, but attractive surfaces. Ex: Baltimore Auction (Bowers and Merena, 6/2010), lot 339. Lot #6895. Current Bid: $750.

  • Gold Nugget. 25 grams, .8 ounce. 23.1 x 20.3 x 14.8 mm. A sizeable gold nugget in its natural state with olive-gold color and a few tiny quartz inclusions. A pleasing shape with craggy recesses and slightly rounded, exposed high points. Ex: Philadelphia Americana Sale (Stack’s, 10/2010), lot 3599. Lot #6896. Current Bid: $850.

  • Gold Nugget. 24.7 grams, .8 ounce. 22.8 x 15 x 13 mm. A knobby, natural greenish-gold nugget with bright highlights and shimmering gold allure in protected areas. A large, wonderfully shaped piece slightly rounded on its high points but decidedly distinctive and attractive. Ex: Philadelphia Americana Sale (Stack’s, 10/2010), lot 3600. Lot #6897. Current Bid: $950.

The other three nuggets are in the 8th session held 1:00 p.m. ET on Jan. 11, 2016.
