I sent mine back for a refund. A shame that it cost me $10.95 to have nothing in my possession. The mint should be ashamed of the quality on these high end collectibles. Mine had three noticeable nicks in the arm of Liberty and under 10x magnification, it was really bad. Probably would not have graded over MS63.

I loved the reverse of the coin and the obverse was nice. I did see some light scratches in the obverse fields but nothing on the reverse.

I have had countless issues dating back to 2009. I actually stopped buying from the mint for several years after they refused to take back a couple mint sets that had loose coins that arrived while on vacation and missed the 7 day return window by a few days. I can see the strict return on bullion coins as people can send back coins when the price drops, but on the fixed price collectible sets, 7 days is a joke.

We ordered 4 Liberty’s. 2 are going back today. One had rim nicks on the reverse and the other had 3 small circles under the torch with 30x magnification (not to naked eye). So, we assumed that would come back PCGS 69 at best. We also noticed what others are referring to as hair lines or scratches – we see them more as more of bristle marks from harsh polishing? Is this correct? As far as proof-like, we didn’t see anything that would pass as a proof-like finish. Nonetheless, a fresh approach was needed instead of recycling classic designs – so that is a step in the right direction. Should sell out soon – great time to get some Au as spot is at 5 year low. We love the coin – it’s a beauty for sure! Prob sending to PCGS except I have one and the wife has one – odds are 1 would come back 70 – so who gets it – me or the wife? Lol yes, of course, who am I kidding — she gets the 70!!!

A lot of hairline scratches on both sides!!! They will be going back. A very disappointing offering from our mint, what is going on?

Received my coin and same as others – lots of hairlines. I don’t have any scratches on the coin but the capsule looks like it went through a cement mixer.

Hello Everyone, I just received my 2015 Liberty HR Gold coin yesterday. Upon very close inspection it looks flawless. Have decided to send in to PCGS for First Strike designation and hopefully MS70 grade. If comments here are any indication of other coins, MS70 could prove to be very illusive. I personally like the coin and believe that MS70/MS69 will likely demand a good premium. Wouldn’t surprise me to see this coin at $2,400 in high grade within 6 months time. I think this first $100 gold coin will be highly sought after within next year or so.

The drop in Gold prices and production problems will leave many wondering if this was a good purchase.

MCM just dropped the prices on them slabbed by hundreds $. HR Liberties (they are not near UHR) that is. $20 bonus if you do it quickly. Funny how they are already around 43,000 units – and they are so far from attractive as the UHR, the AGE, or even the Buffaloes.

My guess is that the flippers may get stuck with more than they planned on.

I am also reading elsewhere about the very visible scratches on this supposedly quality coin given the premium being charged. Glad I passed on this, though I would have jumped in if the Mint had gone with the woman warrior design.

Waiting to here from Mike on this subject. My coin looks like someone tried to clean the dies and left the fields all scratched up. I really didn’t care for the obverse design anyway. In person, the coin is not that appealing. Maybe if they made it a proof it would look better. Will be sending it back for refund.
