The Perth Mint of Australia just released a one-ounce silver coin in collector proof quality that features Spock, one of the most iconic characters in sci-fi, from Star Trek: The Original Series.

This Spock coin follows other recent Star Trek issues that include depictions of Captain Kirk and the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 (both sold out), as well as the captains and ships/stations from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Officially licensed, struck in 99.9% pure silver and limited to 5,000 coins, this newest collectible offers a reverse or tails side design of Spock, as played by actor Leonard Nimoy, giving his trademark Vulcan salute. Behind, the IDIC Vulcan symbol appears along with inscriptions of SPOCK, 1 OZ 999 SILVER, and TM & © 2015 CBS. ARR.

Struck as legal tender of the island nation of Tuvalu, each obverse offers the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Inscriptions include QUEEN ELIZABETH II, 1 DOLLAR, 2015 and TUVALU.
