I really like the new 2015 Liberty High Relief gold coin. However, I noticed an inconsistency in the artwork on the obverse face of the coin. The flag on the face of the coin is clearly flowing from wind/breeze/movement. Liberty's dress (toga) and the flame of the torch is very static. The artist really missed the spirit of the image that could have been easily captured with a few minor adjustments to the artwork. St. Gaudens design captures the flowing movement concept perfectly. Just my opinion on what otherwise is a pretty nice coin. Reverse side is perfect.

I absolutely hate the packaging. So its $400 over spot and its a High Relief coin yet in a regular Silver Eagle style box and packaging. No thank you.

Overpriced; mediocre artwork (particularly on obverse), and littered throughout with designers' initials, which frankly shouldn't even be permitted on official coinage. Pass.

Brett,
Who is the guy at PCGS; a friend, a neighbor? If I send in an unopened U.S. Mint package with packing slip inside box what happens to that information on the invoice? Just curious as to the process that marginalizes the single collector versus the dealer.

I was lucky this time checkout by 11:02 CST. Did not like design as much as some of the others but think will be good keeper. I usually buy 2 gold coins a year one to enjoy and keep other in box if received within 30 days for FS or ER.. Never have sent in or sold. Guy at PCGS told me if not open did not matter how old coin was as long as it met First Strike. Seems like by time one pays to send coin in for grading waste of money. Have first strikes back to 2012. Does anyone else do this and watch e-bay for boxed sales? Only been collecting since 2010 first coin was 1 ounce Gold liberty I opened. Think a person would need 20 years to make anything on holding in box. Guess, I got feed up buying first strikes MS-70 blah blah every type of label. Boils down to is. Coin free of marks. Keep box and order sheet to help prove not fake. ? Thoughts ?
