News of the reductions come from United States Mint documents that are scheduled to appear later Friday in the Federal Register, the official source of notices by government agencies.

A release date has yet to be announced for next year’s 2015 Proof Silver Eagle. January seems most likely, based on the timing of its pricing notice. January is also the month when the two most recent issues launched. Last year’s coin was introduced on Jan. 24, 2013 for $62.95, and sales for this year’s coin kicked off on Jan. 23, 2014 for $52.95. Prices change due to the cost of silver since these coins are struck in one ounce of 99.9% pure silver.

Coin News Update: The Mint published its preliminary 2015 product schedule early Friday morning. The 2015 Proof American Silver Eagle is scheduled to be released on Jan. 2.

Prices for other 2015-dated products are not yet available.

"Pricing on other 2015 silver products is currently being analyzed," Adam Stump, deputy director of the U.S. Mint’s Office of Corporate Communications, said a few hours after this article first published.

Silver has tumbled nearly 18% this year, suggesting pricing cuts across other silver coins and sets.

Proof Silver Eagles carry the ‘W’ mint mark, denoting their production at West Point. They are the Mint’s most popular collectible product. This year’s coin had sales of 732,105 as of Sunday.

It’s nice to finally see the 2015 product schedule, incomplete though it is.
But it includes a high relief silver medal and a high relief 24k gold coin – those should be interesting.
