US Mint Sales Dates for 2015-Dated Bullion Coins

The U.S. Mint will begin selling 2015-dated American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins on Jan. 5, 2015.

Today, Dec. 5, the United States Mint announced its plans for ending sales of 2014-dated bullion coins and provided dates for when 2015-dated versions would become available.

United States Mint bullion coins are sold in bulk to "Authorized Purchasers" who consist of major coin and precious metals dealers, brokerage companies, and other participating financial intermediaries. The Mint sent the following information to this group of buyers:

WASHINGTON – The following are the guidelines for the year-end ordering policy for United States Mint Bullion Coins for United States Mint Bullion Coin Authorized Purchasers:

2014-Dated Gold Bullion Coins

The United States Mint has completed production of 2014 American Eagle and American Buffalo Gold Bullion Coins. These coins will remain on sale until all inventories have been depleted. We will notify you when any 2014-dated gold bullion coin sells out. We do not anticipate a balance of 2014-dated American Eagle Gold Bullion fractional coins in 2015.

2015-Dated Gold Bullion Coins

The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for 2015-dated American Eagle Gold (1 oz., 1/2 oz., 1/4 oz., and 1/10 oz.) and American Buffalo Gold Bullion Coins on Monday, January 5, 2015. As we plan to have sufficient quantities of all coins available, we will not be allocating the initial release. If the United States Mint has a remaining balance of one ounce 2014-dated gold bullion coins, we will begin issuing them, on a fixed ratio basis, alongside the 2015-dated coins beginning with orders placed on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Based on current inventory and demand, we do not anticipate having a large balance of 2014-dated one ounce gold bullion coins left.

2014-Dated Silver Bullion Coins

The United States Mint is transitioning American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin production from 2014-dated coins to 2015. We will continue to sell the remaining inventory of 2014-dated coins, under allocation, until inventory is depleted. Based on current demand, we anticipate having enough coins to offer allocations through the week of December 15th.

2015-Dated Silver Bullion Coins

The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for 2015 dated American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins on Monday, January 12, 2015. These coins will be sold under the United States Mint’s allocation process.

How nice that the dealers know when their coins will become available. How about a new updated complete product schedule for all the other coins and products the mint sells? Here it’s Dec already and no idea of when any coins will be available in 2015.

I take that back – for enrollment coins dates are listed up to May 14 for the silver proof set. Beyond that I can’t tell because the mint’s site is down, a not infrequent occurrence lately.
