Be happy there was a discount program. The only other coins to have discounts are the commemoratives. That is only the first month, and quite nominal at best, particularly for the golds. I wouldn't look to any price adjustment for 2014 silver this close to the end of the year. Look for it in next year's offerings The AtB should be in the $125 to $130 range. Silver proof sets should be around $47.50. ASEs should be $38 Uncirc and $47 Proof.
And we haven't seen anything about the LESPS for this year. Remember the note that indicated a change in the authorizing language changing to a MINIMUM of 90% silver without any reference to an alloying metal? Perhaps rather than testing a new alloy, there is going to be a REAL reason to buy the LESFS - all silver at .999 fine (dime, quarters, half as well as the ASE). Makes sense, doesn't it? No on-sale date yet and we are getting pretty close to the end of the year. First delivery may not be until after the first of the year.

I'm a little annoyed.....I subscribed to the set (3 coins per release) last year when the 10% deal looked like a good deal (it was). I saw the note about the 10% discount ending, but I assumed it was the end of the calendar year. I also mistakenly assumed that their ending of the discount would end my subscription.

Wrong.

When I saw my order come through, I assumed it was a mistake at $154....especially since silver is under $16/oz now and falling. At $154, these are no bargains. These should be selling around $125 or so. I'll wait and buy mine in the aftermarket at a bargain price. After they messed up on the initial Platinum Eagle pricing (mistakenly putting up $1600 instead of $1650 on the opening day for a few hours), you would think that someone's looking at the pricing grid.

Wake up, Mint. We're really not idiots out here......

It will be interesting to see the first sales numbers on the new pucks. I would assume they will be lower than any other puck this year. There are probably still some people out there with subscriptions who will auto buy. I feel others will wait and see if there is a price drop over the next several months.

I noticed that by offering the subscription discount on these coins, this provided bigger sales of the "collector" versions when compared to previous years that did not have a subscription offer. I also am not happy about the mints decision to end the subscription on these coins for this year. I think that was a raw deal they pulled on all of the regular coin buyers. Of course I will still continue to buy these as I have no intention of ending this coin series. (They got us there...) Now that the price of silver has dropped substantially it's too bad the Mint has become more greedy and not lowered the price to reflect the silver mint values. It's possible that this will backfire on them. Maybe... I'm still buying though, ( grudgeingly ).
