There are a pair of FS 70 DCAM's on Ebay...each going for well over 3K; each has at least 16 bids. But all of the higher bids are from 2-3 bidders, indicating pumping going on in hopes of reeling in a mark. Unfortunately, some poor soul is going to hook, thinking there is high demand when in reality, there is not. And Brian, you are hereby awarded FreeThinker in Perpituity!

I'd rather they bungle a release this way than the way they bungled the gold BB HoF release earlier. At least this way more people get the coin in their collections at a reasonable price (at this time).

The lack of a maximum mintage, coupled with no pre-set ordering window essentially destroyed the after market for the Kennedy gold before it was even sold. The so-called "first strike" or "early release" slabbed coins is a pure sham, and, as evidenced by the scammers on Ebay, they're asking a fortune but are finding few takers. Sadly, the U.S. Mint completely bungled this one. Too bad, because the coin itself is a beaut. If you didn't get one yet, wait six months, maybe a year, and I predict you'll be able to get one for less than the issue price of $1,240. I've been collecting for more than 50 years. I've seen this movie before and, sadly, know how it ends. Hopefully, the Mint won't make the same mistakes moving forward.
