Trip to San Francisco Mint Begins… Stay Tuned
This week my brother Darrin and I are visiting the U.S. Mint at San Francisco. This will be Darrin's first visit and my second. I was there early last year and had a great time.

Assaying Gold at the West Point Mint
The United States Mint is a powerhouse maker of bullion coins... there's no bigger in the world. It takes tons of silver and gold to manufacture them. Last year alone, numbers exceeded 42.6 million ounces of silver for American Silver Eagles and neared 1.7 million ounces of gold for American Gold Eagles and American Gold Buffalos.

FDR Presidential $1 Coins in Rolls, Bags and Boxes
At noon today, Aug. 28, the United States Mint began selling the latest Presidential $1 Coin in rolls, bags and boxes. Honoring Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States serving from 1933 to 1945, it is the last of the dollar coins for 2014.

United States Mint sales totals are shifting for sold out 2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Commemorative Coins.
Last week saw a sales reshuffling of 2014 Baseball Silver Dollars for the first time in four months. This week their totals danced again, as did those of 2014 $5 Baseball Gold Coins for the first time in 19 weeks [...]
