Collectors over the weekend picked up 15,619 more 2014 Kennedy Half-Dollar Uncirculated Coin Sets, lifting their four-day sales total to 84,593.

The set was released by the United States Mint on Thursday, July 24, and costs $9.95. Holding two uncirculated coins with original 1964 obverse designs by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Gilroy Roberts, the sets notched one-day sales of 68,974 units. At the time, the Mint said it had 37,000 on hand.

This year the U.S. Mint has created 7 unique Kennedy coins in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy half-dollar. The clad set includes two of the coins. A 24-karat Kennedy gold half-dollar launches on Aug. 5 and a four-coin set of 90% silver halves debuts sometime in the fall.

For more information or to place a clad set order, visit this U.S. Mint product page or call 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468). The set’s product page indicates new orders will be available for shipping on Aug. 18, 2014.

Small demand for such a low priced 2 coin set. Great!

I don’t know? $1.00 face.
$9.95 plus $4.95 shipping
I’ll spend a few bucks more for an ounce of silver.

Johnny U, you’re commenting on metallic value, versus intrinsic and historical value and significance. I too buy silver, to protect my future, but having been a coin collector, since 1965, I’ve learned, all that glitters is not gold and even something made of brass can be valuable.

Dale. Congrats on quick shipping. I waited to order mine so I will need to wait, wait, wait for my sets. I waited months for my baseball silver coins. I’m used to it. Waiting three years plus for silver to get back up off the ground. Waiting…..
