Jack,
1 They made 41,785 annual 2013 dollar sets so far and only 28,368 of the 2012. Suspect that there are a limited number of dollar sets collectors and they may be saturated already.
2 MS70 graded 2013 W eagles were 80% early release at NGC, non early release only 60%. All dollar sets graded now may run 40% MS69 & lower, not much profit on the overall balance.
3 The Mint probably made a guess about how many they were going to sell and bought the packaging and made the sets. Think they overestimated. At the rate they are selling, they will have to sell them for the next three years to match the 2012 figures. Think the Mint is not wanting to destroy inventory. Look at the ATB three coin sets. They are still selling 2010 Hot Springs sets five years later and still going.

I still can't believe all the 2013 sets still available. The uncirculated dollar set can hold a key Silver Eagle if it ends soon and the regular MINT SET could be at a 50 year low mintage if it ends soon. Wonder why no one is buying the sets like crazy. Any thoughts? Happy collecting!
