Next week the United States Mint will introduce one of the world’s most popular annual sets and issue the second 2014 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin.
Releases start Tuesday, May 13, with the 2014 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set®. More commonly called "Mint Sets," this year’s issue has 28 uncirculated coins for $27.95. Fourteen of them originate from Philadelphia and 14 come from Denver. They include versions of the coinage struck for circulation, plus Kennedy halves, 2014 Presidential dollars and 2014 Native American dollars.
When issued, the 2014 Mint Set may be ordered by going to the U.S. Mint website page found here. There are no mintage limits. Last year’s set remains available and has sales of 359,185.
On Thursday, May 15, the U.S. Mint will release the 2014 Shenandoah National Park Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin for $154.95. The bullion version of this coin launched on Monday and already has sales of 15,200. Both coins feature the same obverse and reverse designs as found on the recently issued Shenandoah quarters, but are much larger with their five ounces of 99.9% pure silver and three-inch diameters.
When issued, the Shenandoah coin may be ordered by going to the U.S. Mint website page found here. Its mintage limit is set at 30,000.
