The Mint has the following Announcements on their "Shop" page:

· About the Shipment of Free Bags: Customers whose products are on backorder received their free reusable bags in a separate shipment as part of our “We Love Our Customers” promotion. Customers will not be charged an additional $4.95 for their upcoming order.

· About Changing Shipping Dates: We are experiencing technical difficulties with the part of our system that displays the expected ship date for your order, causing the dates to move incorrectly. Please be assured that orders are being fulfilled according to our standard policy. This issue will have no impact on the actual shipping dates. Thank you for your patience as we work toward a solution

. Quarterly Inventory: Due to the United States Mint’s quarterly inventory, expedited shipping will not be available for orders placed from April 16 through April 20, 2014. Orders over $300 and orders containing gold or platinum United States Mint collectibles will receive a complimentary upgrade, but may experience a slight delay. Expedited shipping will be available again for orders placed on or after April 21, 2014. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Bob, looks like you will be getting a coin!

I know many of you may be ordering for the first time or this is the first time that you will be receiving an order with more than one item being shipped separately. The Mint is shipping their "Free" mint bags ahead of many Gold and Sliver Coin orders. What is happening is that the Bags are arriving with the Shipping bill of $4.95. This is only a One Time Charge per order. You will not be charged an additional shipping charge when your Coins arrive. What is strange and confusing is that the Mint Bags are being sent by "2 day shipping with Signature Required". This is a fine waste of taxpayer money as these Mint bags would be just fine being sent by First Class postage!

I agree, Bob - in 2008, the Bald Eagle clad coins were $7.95. Why the price went up by 130% the following year is ridiculous at best.

Well this is interesting. I put in a late order on 3/29 for a gold coin. I just received notice my free bag was just shipped and my credit card billed the $4.95 shipping fee, Does this mean I will get a coin or did I just waste nearly five bucks on the stupid bag?
