Containing two circulating-quality $1 coins, this numismatic product from the United States Mint is already familiar to collectors of the series as it honors Grover Cleveland’s second term. Grover Cleveland is the only American President who served two nonconsecutive terms (1885-1889 as the 22nd and 1893-1897 as the 24th), resulting in two different Presidential dollars in his honor and a doubling of several U.S. Mint products.

A Presidential $1 Coin Cover featuring two dollars representative of Cleveland’s first term as commander-in-chief debuted on June 19, 2012. The portrait shown on the first-term dollars is more front-facing compared to the side-facing depiction appearing on the second-term coins.

Mounted in this second limited-edition Presidential $1 Coin Cover are two $1 coins from the first day of minting — May 16, 2012, for the Denver facility and May 1, 2012, for the Philadelphia facility. Along with the coins and an image of the President, added on the coin cover to mark its release date is a 45-cent Weather Vane postage stamp with a postmark of "December 18, 2012, Caldwell, NJ."

Second Term Presidential $1 Coin Design

Like the earlier dollars, the second term $1 coins depict a likeness of the former President that was both designed and executed by Don Everhart. Inscriptions surrounding the portrait are "GROVER CLEVELAND," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "24th PRESIDENT" and "1893-1897" to denote the years of his second term.

Each $1 coin edge has incused words of "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "2012," plus a mint mark of the U.S. Mint facility of origin — either "D" for Denver or "P" for Philadelphia.

Reverse or tails sides of all Presidential $1 Coins feature Don Everhart’s design of the Statue of Liberty and the encircling inscriptions of "$1" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."
