Quite a few other things needed to be invented besides that. in 1893 Tesla was still only theorizing about using radiowaves for communication -theorizing.

His main gig was electricity, he did diddily squat in anything related to jet fuel. Tesla, you could call him both the most underrated and the most overblown scientist in history.
