Colorized coins, selective gold plating, etc. – never gonna happen. The mint doesn’t have the technology and Congress is stuck in the 19th century (e.g. afraid to eliminate the penny), too busy infighting and worrying about getting reelected to even begin thinking about such things.

Latrobe PA is the home of Rolling Rock beer – now they will have another claim to fame!!
The only super jobs done by the mint under Moy’s tenure were the re-branding effort, the ultra-high relief gold piece, and the decision to look arouind the world to see how other mints have been gaining and surpassing the U.S. Mint’s dismal performance record. Thank God they haven’t minted colorized coins. I know they appeal to many people, and it’s a personal thing I figure. I know some dyed in the wool numismatic guys who really like what the Aussie’s and Canadians have been doing, but it’s just not for me.
Look’s like President Obama is trying to clean up a few loose items on his “To Do” list…might he be sweating under the collar a little??

No apparent knowledge of the Mint according to the article but Peterson had experience and look at how he under-performed.
